Tri-Lite Sodium Hypochlorite

Industrial Bleach

Sodium hypochlorite, commonly known as bleach, is a compound with the formula NaOCl. Bleach is used for whitening, sterilization, sanitizing and water purification. In its industrial concentrations, sodium hypochlorite is similar to common household liquid bleach except that the strength is much higher. Sodium hypochlorite is made from reacting chlorine with sodium hydroxide.

Oltrin Solutions LLC is the marketing arm for all sodium hypochlorite (Tri-Lite®) produced at Trinity Manufacturing’s facility in Hamlet, NC.

Our Tri-Lite® Sodium Hypochlorite is used in a variety of industrial & commercial applications including:

Municipal Water Treatment
Pool
Treatments
Home and Business
Products
Chemical Manufacturing
Cooling
Towers
Paper
Products

Industrial Bleach is a strong oxidizer and should be handled in accordance with recommended practices. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet or contact your Oltrin representative for more information.

The Tri-Lite Brand
and Product Quality

Quality sets Oltrin products apart from the competition’s product. Control over the quality of all raw materials through in-house production ensures that our caustic and Tri-Lite® brand sodium hypochlorite is the highest grade product on the market.

Our state-of-the-art plant begins the process with the electrolysis of saltwater, utilizing advanced water filtration systems and only the purest salt available. The saltwater is then passed through a membrane cell electrolyzer, resulting in the production of chlorine and caustic soda. Chlorine and caustic soda are then recombined to produce sodium hypochlorite.

The immediate use of raw materials eliminates metal contaminants present in typical bleach caused when chlorine and caustic are transported in rail cars or other containers for bleach production. Our end result is a finished product with very low metal content.

Chlorine Conversion in Swimming Pools

Historically, most municipalities and pools used chlorine gas for disinfection. However, since the early 2000s, there has been a shift to using bleach instead. A major benefit of switching to bleach is the reduction of safety risks.

  • Tri‑Lite® 150 offers 1.25 lbs of the equivalent oxidizing power of chlorine.
  • Tri‑Lite® 100 offers 1.00 lbs of the equivalent oxidizing power of chlorine.

Some of the most common questions related to converting to bleach are: How much bleach will we use? How does bleach compare to Cl2 gas, cost‑wise? What are the recommended storage methods? Our Product Managers can provide answers to these questions and recommendations for any other important considerations.
